What a month! We have had no time to rest at all with filming taking place in Blackpool, the Midlands and the Lake District. Filming for Haven Holidays and Bass 2008 are now complete with editing for Bass commencing throughout July. Justice 3.1 is also close to finishing so we will be looking for our next personal project which will hopefully involve a little bit of animation this time. We will keep you posted.

Bass 2008 again confirmed as an @Warblefly production. This year the festival seems to have gotten even bigger and better with events taking place in Birmingham, Derby, Leicester, Manchester and Nottingham. We are looking forward in particular to the MC's for Life in Manchester where we will get to meet Black Thought, Lord Finesse and Ursula Rucker amongst many others. They will add to a long list of amazing and inspiring artists whom we have been lucky enough to interview over the last 3 years.

Once again our Birmingham based video production services have been called into action. Ok that was a long winded sentence but it all helps with the Google searches! Anyway we have been asked to come on board with Pickle Jar Communications to provide E-learning videos for a Law School to help support professional development. We have also been busy buying new pieces of kit including track and a dolly. Details will be online in our hire section soon.

Pre-production begins on the Haven Holidays shoot. With two different teams being used to cover all the shots a lot of time is being taken to make sure it all goes as smoothly as possible. Initial testing has been done with the Panasonic cameras. We have updated the software allowing to change of frame rates on the Firestore allowing us to film some amazing slow motion footage. Syncing with Final Cut Pro 6 has proven straight forward and easy to use as usual.

Good and bad news this week. Firstly we came second in the Clipstar competition with the Rainbow Hunters animation, but we have been re-entered again so hopefully better luck second time around. The good news is that we have the first rough cut of Justice 3.1. The initial cut is really good and shows some really great performances from the actors involved. With a couple further cuts we should hopefully have the finished article which we will be sending in to a variety of festivals and hopefully have a premier evening in Birmingham. Keep an eye out if you want a free drink or two!

Pre-production research begins on a number of documentaries that will involve a lot of travel throughout the world. One is for the Alzheimer's Society whilst the other will be focusing on Land Mines in South Africa. Keep an eye out for further updates on these two exciting projects.

Filming confirmed to help promote a hotel in Hull. It is becoming important now for potential customers to be able to view the hotel before they visit so we are getting asked more and more to provide video content for websites who want to showcase their facilities. With the help of Quiksee it allows for a bit more variety to our services.

Filming begins on the Skills for Health video. We are using our portable green screen which we will be bringing up to Newcastle with us. This will also be shot on H.D. and we look forward to seeing the results in a couple of month's time.

A series of videos have been confirmed for Haven Holidays. The first initial shoots to take place in June covering three of their holiday parks. The shoot will be shot in High Definition using our Panasonic cameras so we can't wait to see the stunning scenery in crystal sharp H.D.

@Warblefly has been asked to make a promotional video for Skills for Health to promote the health care job sector to young males. There is a huge variety of jobs available in the Health Care Service so hopefully this video will help to show the diversity available to young males in the North East.

Other good news this month includes the completion of the WMG corporate video for Warwick University. The finished product was a great success when unveiled at a conference last week. A total of two thousand copies were given out to prospective clients by the company. Warblefly have also completed a series of demos for a mobile phone company. This involved making short entertainment news videos which would be sent to customer's mobiles.

Hello, it's Alex here again. First bit of news is that I am no longer a mere work experience placementee here at Warblefly, but am in fact now a part time production runner. Finally, Warblefly celebrated Warren's 30th birthday this month. Warren returned to Wing Wah's for the big night and graced them all with some karaoke classics.

Hello! I'm Alex, Warblefly's very own work experience placementee, and I'll be guiding you through the most recent events that have occurred here at Warblefly. Last week we spent three days in Warwick filming a corporate video for the University's engineering research company WMG. After some very early mornings and many hours interviewing dashing men in suits we completed the shoot and the footage is currently being transformed into a wondrous video next door at Eight Eyed Sea bass. Thanks must go to all the interviewees, Pickled Jar Communications and Warwick University for all their help and patience.

Warblefly were invited to the Wing Wah restaurant last week as they revealed their highly anticipated commercial to the crowds. The karaoke was on full blast, the drink was flowing and the mountains of food kept coming, a great night had by all. The commercial will be aired tonight during Coronation Street and if you are unlucky enough to miss it, or don't have the video recorder quite ready, you will be able to watch it on this website very soon.

Diplo Florida video premier. We finally had the opportunity of showing the music video for Diplo's song called Florida. Crew and everyone that has helped us to finish this amazing video were welcomed along to a location in Moseley. The video recieved many beautiful comments and numerous requests to play it again and again which is always a good thing in my book. Post work on Wing Wah is almost finished. It has all come together brilliantly and we must say thank you to all those who have helped us make this an enjoyable experience. Lots of credit must go to Ben Lister and Stuart Mills who as usual made sure the visuals look as lovely as ever. We worked with two new sound guys as well on this so a big thank you to Paul Taylor and Rob Cherry for there excellent work with the boom. Finally Eight Eyed Sea bass have once again done wonders in post, including an amazing cgi sky which really enhances the last shot to give a truly oriental feel.

Post work has started on Friction Arts Reality Estate . A really amazing event that took place around five ways in Birmingham which included lots of singers that lived on the estates who all got together and performed a breathtaking piece of music.

The first of a two day shoot on the Wing Wah commercial. We are shooting the commercial in full HD on our Panasonic Ag-HVX200 and have also added a lovely piece of kit from Film 38 in London which gives the camera depth of field and a more filmic look. Pictures from the shoot will be uploaded soon. The first day went amazingly well and the results so far look beautiful. Both versions of the Heroes documentary are finished. The first one lasting 20 minutes provides an in-depth insight to the lives of Jewllery designers and makers as well as the changes that have occurred in the Jewellery Qtr. The shorter version can be seen at the Heroes exhibition being held at the Custard Factory where you can also see some of the work that the students have been able to produce thanks to the inspirational Heroes!

The first casting day for the Wing Wah Chinese restaurant commercial began today and we once again were blown away by some of the talent in the midlands. We also managed to have a bit of fun with one of the managers from the Burton branch which I think will be shown at their Christmas party!

The Heroes documentary is well under way in post production and is revealing some interesting facts about the lives of the last remaining jewellery makers in Birmingham's Jewellery Qtr. the DVD will hopefully answer a few questions about what was life like back when gas was first introduced so that they could join metal more easily, what happened when a Jewllery Maker sadly passed away and there was no bread winner left in the family and how has the Jewellery Quarter changed.

University of Nottingham Governors DVD complete! Another project and another deadline met with great results. Pickle Jar Communications called upon the services of @Warblefly to help make a presentation visually more appealing. We stepped up to the challenge (though we may have been tempted by the mention of free pizza) and delivered not only a video that can be used for this presentation but also one that can be used for further events. .

Friction Arts - Reality Estate. Once again the experience of covering festivals and arts events was called upon for the amazing Reality Estate event which was organised by Friction Arts. The event included a host of choir singers singing in a housing estate near five ways as well as a host of other performance artists. Bass 2007 complete. This years Bass Festival was bigger and better than ever before and @Warblefly were there to cover every minute of it (well as much as we could). Commercial for ITV confirmed! @Warblefly Productions have been commissioned to make a commercial for an amazing restaurant in the midlands area. With adverts becoming an even more popular way for companies to advertise we are hoping to continue in our quest to be the number one production company for television adverts in the midlands.

Filming for Justice 3.1 started today. The first shoot day went really well considering we were using a dog which had quite a key part in the day's events. He acted like a pro and only cost a bag of dog food from Morrison's, can you get any better than that?

We finally used the green screen! We have had our green screen for two weeks and finally have had a chance to see how it works. I must say I was very much surprised at how easy it was to use and how the results were perfect. It comes in two bags and can be assembled anywhere which is brilliant when a client can't make it to a studio.

There has been a lot going on! There has not been an update for a while so I apologise . We are bidding on quite a few projects at the moment with one being a commercial for ITV so fingers crossed we will bowl them over with a host of brilliant ideas.

The Tricky Dicky's promotional video goes live. Tricky Dicky's were so happy with our video that they put two Plasma screens outside for everyone else in the Arcadia area to have a look at it.
