Bref: Network Rail Telecom’s (NRT) FTNx Cisco IOS XR network equipment training solution has deficiencies against the new 302 training & assessment solutions standard. This work proposes to update – or where required – renew the competence profiles and associated training outputs to create a comprehensive professional competency for this solution.

Challenges: I picked up this project following the analysis, which has been carried out by another Learning Designer. Working to a tight deadline the project needed a design report created and signed off in line with Network rail standards. I would then need to be available to assure the development of the training and the pilot session

Process: After reviewing the Learning Needs analysis and talking to the SMEs on the project I was able to create a design report which provided three delivery options. These were presented to the client and an option was chosen.

Solution: The final option was to present the training via online learning. My role then had to ensure that the delivery of the training was up to the standard that we wanted. I reviewed the training and collated feedback from the delegates. This was then used to re evaluate how the course was to be delivered.
